This cedar garden fence has been given a complete makeover by none other than Owatrol veteran Roger, of R&A Pressure Washing Services Ltd.
You may have seen us share some of the amazing work by Roger before if you have been on our social pages or read some previous blogs. So, it may come of little surprise that we have another amazing project of his to share with you.
We think you will agree that yet again, the results are amazing!
How exactly did Roger achieve this result?
Preparing the fence
As there was no previous finish on the cedar garden fence, Roger didn’t need to use any stripping products. Instead, he only required the use of Net-Trol wood cleaner and brightener, to get it ready for a finish.
Net-Trol is a biodegradable product and as such, doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals such as solvents or bleach. This makes it harmless to plants and shrubs, making it perfectly safe to use in the garden. As you can see, Net-Trol effortlessly removed the dirt and that aged grey look, leaving the wood looking clean and and vibrant.
Once the wood had fully dried, he gave it a light sand just to remove the raised grain.
Finishing the fence
Roger then applied two coats of our water-based wood finish Aquadecks, in the shade Honey. Aquadecks is one of our products that is to be applied ‘wet-on-wet’. This means that once you have applied the first coat, you only need to wait 15-20 minutes before you apply the second coat. This can save you many hours!
Tip: Remember, Aquadecks is a saturating wood oil. As such, its place is inside the wood, not on the surface. You should not allow it to become touch dry / dry between coats and do not create a film on the surface.
Huge thank you to Roger for once again trusting Owatrol on another project. Do follow his Facebook page for more amazing transformations.
